The force
I think the origin Jedism philosophies, I say
philosophies but they were more guidelines,
were taken from the films mostly, this entailed
the Darkside/Lightside force theory, various
Jedi/Sith codes and of course the names. But still
some will look deeper into the star wars story
as you have, though some not being aware of
the events after the films have developed our
own ideas that sometimes are the same as those
discovered in the film follow ups. Its interesting
since I have seen someone posting on another
board about a netherworld of the force which is
like some kind of afterlife which I think is
canon, some people are just more cannon than
others. Have a look around at other communities, there is a list of Jedism sites that
has been posted recently.
