A civilized society should not carry weapons?

On average, everyone disagrees with significant nonconsensus between 30 voters.

Reasons To Disagree

I have yet to see a civilized society. If civilized means oppressed, then no. If civilized means matured enough to not have crime, then all good.

“The hearts of man are easily swayed” -RWBY quote It doesn’t take much for a society to become uncivilized- this this should not play a factor in a decision concerning weapons.

There is no such thing as a civilized society as of today. So the answer to this is a resounding no.

When society does not carry weapons they leave themselves defenseless against those that do- mostly out laws and government If everyone had a 9mm on their hip- robbers &murders would think twice... and we would all be protected in a level battle field.

The most civilized areas of the world allow people to carry openly.1 dentures crime, protection if needed if found in a place that you need protection,3 it helps the weak to gain a hand in fighting back a stronger foe. (even the peace keeper had a weapon)

Reasons To Agree

A civilized society would not need to carry weapons. We don't live in and probably never will live in, a truly civilized society. There can be no good without evil and as such there will always be a dark side of the Force and a need to have protection against such. That does not mean that everyone needs to open carry a gun, sword or some other visible weapon for us to be protected as a whole.
