Most people outside the U.S> don't realize this, But it actually part of firearm training to get out of the area. We are not supposed to proceed to engage the criminal. We only draw and fire if necessary. For some reason you all think we are happy to fight. It is not actually how we work at all.

I would rather try to remove others and protect, than to engage. But if need be, I will stay behind so others may survive.

One of the things people forget when they talk about this kind of thing, is that chaos prevents the good guys from being able to find the suspect. The most important thing to do IS to remove as many victims as possible before going after the target. As the number of people (especially strangers) increases, the more error you will have in locating the assailant.

Remove others from the situation first then myself if possible. If not possible to leave myself engage and defend those who are escaping.

Defense is the Jedi way. We should never seek to engage without careful consideration of the cost.

I would leave immediately with those I came with as long as there was no one else that I could potentially help escape.

Always, if safely removing yourself and others from the conflict is a possibility then this should always be the first choice.
